Planning Ahead

Sample ceremony timelines

The short answer

You may arrive when your window begins to enter the suites and begin setup. Your ceremony must start at least 30 minutes in (it can be later) and everything must be out when your window ends. Here are timelines to reference.

Every experience reserves the chapel privately for you. Your start time is when your window opens, and the whole window is yours. Two rules shape the day:

  • Your ceremony start time must be at least 30 minutes after your window opens. With the Signature, you would generally want it to start right at that 30-minute mark. With the Premier, you would usually leave an hour ahead of time to set up and let guests arrive.
  • Everything wraps by the end of your window — photos on the grounds included. Vendors arrive and depart within the window too.

Your window at a glance

  • Intimate — 60 minutes, up to 6 of you.
  • Signature — 90 minutes, up to 50 guests.
  • Premier — 3.5 hours, 50 guests included (up to 70).

Your exact window start time is on your Couple's Portal. The link is in your welcome text.

The Signature — 90 minutes (example: 2:00–3:30)

  • 2:00 — Your window opens. Come on in: the suites are yours from this minute. Vendors arrive and set up; your music lead cues the playlist.
  • 2:15 — Guests begin arriving and finding seats.
  • 2:30 — Ceremony begins.
  • 2:50 — You're married! Ring the bell on your way out. Guests usually head out to the patio, and you, your wedding party, and family stay inside the chapel to start photos.
    • If you've added the Refreshment Cart, we will have this on the patio before your ceremony ends so it is ready for guests.
  • 3:10 — Mingling with your guests and champagne toast (if added).
  • 3:30 — Window closes — everyone (and everything you brought) heads out.

The Premier — 3.5 hours (example: 4:00–7:30)

  • 4:00 — Window opens. Settle into the suites. Vendors arrive and setup begins in the chapel.
  • 4:30 — Have your photographer capture Getting Ready photos in the suites.
  • 4:45 — Vendors and decor in place; guests begin to arrive.
  • 5:00 — Ceremony begins.
  • 5:20 — You're married! Ring the bell on your way out. Guests usually head out to the patio, and you, your wedding party, and family stay inside the chapel to start photos.
    • If you've added the Refreshment Cart, we will have this on the patio before your ceremony ends so it is ready for guests.
    • If you've added Sip & Celebrate, we would begin serving the beer & wine you've provided.
    • If you're doing charcuterie or serving food with our Grazing Table add-on, this would be the time to start that.
  • 5:20–6:00 — While guests are mingling on the patio, you would be getting photos inside the chapel and our outdoor photo areas.
  • 6:00–7:15 — At this point, you would join your guests on the patio to mingle and potentially do some of the following:
    • Cake cutting
    • Champagne toast
    • First dances (we have speakers on the Patio)
  • 7:15 — Sendoff — sparklers if you've added the Sparkler Send-Off.
  • 7:30 — Window closes.

Want a longer evening? Extend Your Celebration

Booked the 4 PM Premier (the 3 PM Premier from November 7, 2027)? You can add one or two more hours and stay until 8:30 or 9:30 PM — more toasts, more dancing, no rushing out after the last photo. It's priced per hour, every event ends by 10 PM, and you add it from your Couple's Portal. More in Add-ons.

Running your own rehearsal

The short answer

If you would like to rehearse, we've put together resources here including notes and diagrams to make that easy to do offsite at your hotel or Airbnb. Our Experiences do not include a rehearsal in the chapel. On rare occasions, we may be able to schedule a rehearsal onsite for an additional charge but we could only confirm this when it is two weeks or less from your wedding date. More details are below.

A ceremony rehearsal is really about people and order — and you have two good ways to do it.

Option 1 (plan on this one): run your own, anywhere

Since an onsite slot can't be promised, make this your default. A half hour at your hotel, a living room, or a backyard covers everything — most couples do it the night before, right before the rehearsal dinner.

What to practice

  1. The lineup. Decide the processional order and write it down, so everyone knows when they'll be walking in. Make sure your music lead knows when to change songs.
  2. The walk. Everyone walks slower than feels natural — count two beats per step. Leave space between pairs.
  3. The cues. Your music lead practices the handoffs with the phone that will be used for music: prelude fading out, the processional songs, and the recessional.
  4. The front. Who stands where, who holds the rings, who takes the bouquet, who has the vows.
  5. The exit. The recessional runs in reverse. Don't forget about ringing the bell on your way out!

Helpful chapel facts for your run-through

  • The chapel has a 6' wide center aisle.
  • It's approximately 60 feet from the North bride suite to the chapel, and about 80 feet from the South suite. The diagram below shows both paths and the two ways in.
  • Plan to ring the bell during your exit from the chapel! Do not slam it or it will be very loud. A slow consistent pull is all it needs.
  • There's no microphone during the ceremony — and none needed; the chapel is intimate enough that everyone hears your vows.
Aerial photo of the chapel and both bride suites with the walking paths drawn in red: about 80 feet from the South suite and about 60 feet from the North suite. Two ways for the bride to enter: through the chapel side entrance to wait and come around the corner on cue, or through the front double doors with two people holding them open. The South suite door swings out toward the chapel so the bride stays hidden.
The walk to the chapel: about 60 feet from the North suite, about 80 feet from the South suite. See Chapel layout & seating for how the room is set, and How music works for the playlist your rehearsal should practice against.

Option 2: a short rehearsal at the chapel

We can host a one-hour rehearsal at the chapel for $200 (one hour is the minimum we schedule), only when the building is free — usually in the day or two before your wedding. Because our calendar fills in around your date, we cannot confirm a rehearsal time more than two weeks out: text us at (830) 402-5690 about two weeks before with a couple of times that could work, and we'll confirm if one is open. Visiting before your wedding

The short answer

Booked couples are always welcome on our free Venue Tours: book any open time, choose the option that says you're already booked, and bring your family, friends, or vendors. For engagement, bridal, or after-the-wedding photos, book a Portrait Session.

Yes, you can come see your chapel again before the big day. Here's how each kind of visit works.

A walkthrough before your wedding

Book any open time on our Venue Tour calendar. It's the same free, self-guided tour as a first visit, about 30 minutes. When you book, choose the option that says you're already booked with us.

Bring whoever you'd like to show around: parents, your planner, the aunt flying in from out of town. The booking asks how many are coming so we know who to expect.

It's a great time to discuss and finalize details for your big day. Tours end right on time, often because we're setting up for a wedding after, so plan to arrive at the start.

Tour times vary week to week, and we open them about three to four weeks ahead. The times on the calendar are the times we have.

We don't book separate walkthroughs, so a Venue Tour is the way to see the chapel before your wedding.

You can also send your vendors this Bride Guide so they have the details ahead of time. Each has a one-page summary: vendors, photographers, officiants, and your music lead.

Engagement, invitation, or bridal photos

Tours are for looking around, so for a photo shoot, book a Portrait Session: $200 for one hour on select weekdays, booked no more than four weeks ahead. You get the chapel, the grounds, and a bride & groom suite of your own. Bring your own photographer.

Coming back after the wedding

Want a couple's shoot in your wedding attire after the day? A Portrait Session works for that too.

No drop-ins

Outside of a tour, a rehearsal, or a portrait session, the chapel isn't open for drop-ins. Most days we're hosting a wedding or getting ready for one.

Marriage license & making it legal

The short answer

Get a Texas marriage license from any county clerk between 90 days and 72 hours before your ceremony, bring it on the day, and your officiant signs it and returns it within 30 days. We don't provide an officiant — a pro or an ordained friend both work.

The license

For a legal marriage ceremony, Texas requires a marriage license issued at least 72 hours before the ceremony. You can get one from any Texas county clerk's office — it doesn't have to be the county where the chapel sits.

Two dates to know:

  • The license is valid for 90 days from the day it's issued. Pick it up in the window between 90 days and 72 hours before your ceremony.
  • Texas waives the 72-hour wait if you've completed the state's free premarital education course (Twogether in Texas) or if one of you is active-duty military — ask the clerk.

Bring the license with you on your wedding day. After the ceremony, your officiant signs it and returns it to the county clerk's office that issued it within 30 days — that's what makes it official. The clerk typically mails your recorded license back to you.

The officiant

The Chapel at Wimberley doesn't provide an officiant, and couples go both ways happily:

  • Hire a professional — you'll find a few we recommend under Preferred Vendors in your Couple's Portal.
  • Ask someone you love — any family member or friend can get ordained online, free, in minutes at American Marriage Ministries. A ceremony led by someone who knows your story is something guests remember.

If your officiant hasn't worked at the chapel before, send them our officiant page — chapeltx.com/guide/officiant — it has everything they need in one place.

Vow renewals

Renewing your vows? No license needed — just the two of you and the words.

Add-ons & how to add them

The short answer

Your Couple's Portal shows the add-ons you already have and lets you add more after you book. Champagne Toast, Refreshment Cart, White Floral Backdrop, and Livestream for any experience; Sip & Celebrate, Grazing Table Setup, Sparkler Send-Off, Extend Your Celebration, and the Charcuterie Cart for Premier.

Every add-on can be added after you book. Your Couple's Portal shows the add-ons already on your booking and is where you request more — tap the one you want and we'll confirm by text and take care of the rest. Current pricing is shown there when you add one; sales tax applies to add-ons.

For any experience

  • Champagne Toast. Bring your champagne (or a non-alcoholic sparkling option); we chill it, set up the cart, and pour for everyone in plastic flutes at the moment you choose in your questionnaire. Included in Sip & Celebrate.
  • Refreshment Cart. Chilled water, sodas, and sparkling water, restocked all event long. Included in Sip & Celebrate. We set it out on the patio as your ceremony wraps up, so it's ready when your guests walk out. We wait on purpose, so no one heads into your ceremony with a drink in hand. Want it out sooner? Just ask and we can set it out earlier, or hand a drink to anyone who needs one before the ceremony.
  • White Floral Backdrop. Lush white florals and greenery behind the altar, set before you arrive and taken down after. (Our backdrops are positioned only by our staff. Bringing your own larger backdrop is Premier-only — see decorating the chapel.)
  • Livestream & Digital Download. We mic your officiant, stream the ceremony to a private link, and you download the video to keep. See Livestream & digital download.

Premier only

  • Sip & Celebrate. Your own beer and wine poured by our TABC-certified server, plus the Champagne Toast and Refreshment Cart. Required for any beer, wine, or seltzer at your event, and it comes with the $500 refundable hold. Rules in Food & drinks.
  • Grazing Table Setup. Required for any food beyond cake or Grate Graze charcuterie. We set wood-top tables, a fridge, ice, and trash cans and handle cleanup; you bring cold or room-temperature food and serve it yourselves. Details in Food & drinks.
  • Sparkler Send-Off. We supply long-burning sparklers and our team lights them outdoors. Required for any sparkler exit; works at any Premier time and glows brightest after sunset. Details in Your sendoff.
  • Extend Your Celebration. For the 4 PM Premier only (3 PM from November 7, 2027): add one or two hours, priced per hour, and stay until 8:30 or 9:30 PM. Every event ends by 10 PM. Details in Sample timelines.
  • Charcuterie Cart. The done-for-you spread: a styled cart from our partner Grate Graze Boards with an attendant to keep it fresh. You book and pay with them directly, priced by guest count — their link is on your Couple's Portal.

Included already

Every experience includes the air-conditioned chapel, chairs and photo areas, the AirPlay sound system, the 1895 bell, and our on-site team. Every experience includes the patio after the ceremony. Signature and Premier include the suites; Premier adds a longer window to use the patio for the toast, cake cutting, and dances, and lets you bring a cake for all your guests.

Accessibility at the chapel

The short answer

The main entrance has a few steps, so there's a separate step-free route: two accessible parking spaces connected to a ramp that reaches the suites, the bathrooms, and the chapel. One bathroom is wheelchair accessible. When you arrive, drive straight ahead to reach the accessible spaces.

A step-free route

The chapel's main entrance has a few steps, so we built a separate way in with none at all. From the accessible parking spaces, a ramp leads to the Bride & Groom suites, the bathrooms, and the chapel itself, so a guest using a wheelchair, a walker, or a cane goes everywhere everyone else goes without a single step. Every door along the way is at least 36 inches wide.

Accessible parking

We have two accessible parking spaces right at the ramp. When you turn in, drive straight ahead instead of pulling into the main parking area and the accessible spaces are in front of you. If someone else is driving a guest who needs them, pass this along so they know where to go. The property map shows the lot in relation to the chapel.

The two accessible parking spaces: a concrete pad with two blue-marked spaces, a striped no-parking access aisle between them, a cedar privacy wall behind, and the ramp leading off to the right
The accessible spaces, straight ahead as you turn in. The striped aisle stays clear, and the ramp starts just to the right. Tap to open full size.

Bathrooms

Both bathrooms are individual, unisex rooms in the Annex, the small building right next to the chapel. One of them is wheelchair accessible, and it sits on the same step-free route as everything else. More on the bathrooms page.

Seating

If a guest uses a wheelchair or would be more comfortable on the aisle, we'll move a chair that day so they sit with everyone else instead of out in the aisle. Details are on the chapel layout & seating page.

Your final two weeks

The short answer

Submit your Pre-Wedding Questionnaire two weeks out, and start prepping what to bring. We've got a list to get you started.

Two weeks out — the questionnaire

Your Pre-Wedding Questionnaire on your Couple's Portal (my.chapeltx.com — the link came in your welcome text) is due two weeks before your ceremony. It's where you lock in the details we set up for you: your exact ceremony start time, final guest count, vendors, cake plans, sendoff, and backdrop choice. Ten minutes, one sitting.

The week of — the hold

We place a refundable authorization hold on your booking card the week of your event. Signature and Intimate: $200. Premier: $500 if you booked on or after September 29, 2026 or add Sip & Celebrate; otherwise $200. It's released automatically about a week afterward — you'll only ever see a charge if something's damaged, the window runs over, or cleanup goes well beyond normal use.

The week of — remind your guests

Send one last note: arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the ceremony begins. This allows you time to arrive in private and for your team to set up the chapel. If they're early, our directions page has easy nearby stops. See directions & arrival.

What to bring on the day

  • Marriage license — the one piece of paper that matters. See making it legal.
  • Rings — and a designated ring-holder.
  • The music phone — charged, playlist downloaded, in the hands of your music lead. See how music works.
  • Vows — printed or in a vow book reads better in photos than a phone.
  • Champagne bottles — if you've added the toast (we chill and serve; you bring the bubbly).
  • Beer, wine, and seltzers — if you've added Sip & Celebrate: already chilled, in coolers, beer and seltzers in cans. See food & drinks.
  • Grazing table food — if you've added Grazing Table Setup: cold or room-temperature food, plus plates, napkins, and serving pieces.
  • Cake — if your experience includes it, plus a cake knife and server. Premier couples serving cake to everyone also bring plates, forks, and napkins. See food & drinks.
  • Decor — anything you're adding, plus boxes to carry it back out. We have a storage closet (left closet) in the chapel where you can store boxes after setup. See decorating the chapel.
  • Bubbles or ribbon wands — if you'd like them for the sendoff. Leave sparklers at home: they're only through our Sparkler Send-Off add-on, and we supply them. See your sendoff.
  • Leash + a pet handler — if a four-legged guest is coming. See bringing your pet.
Send it to Notes, a text, or wherever you keep lists.

Questions in the home stretch? Text us at (830) 402-5690 — it's the fastest way to reach the team.

Your Ceremony & Celebration

Chapel layout & seating

The short answer

We will have chairs set up when you arrive — 48 set by default, and up to 68 (a seat for every guest) if you're doing our Premier Experience and added more guests on your Pre-Wedding Questionnaire. We also have two tables — an entry table and a cake table. They can be used however you would like.

Seating

The chapel is set with champagne-colored chairs in rows on either side of a center aisle. We set 48 chairs by default; if your final guest count (from your Pre-Wedding Questionnaire) is higher, we add chairs to match — every guest gets a seat, even at a full 70-person Premier wedding.

Here's the room as we set it by default, drawn to scale:

To-scale floor plan of the chapel's default ceremony setup: six rows of four chairs on each side of a six-foot center aisle, with the vestibule, entryway, closets and tables
The default 48-chair setup: 6 rows of 4 on each side of a 6' center aisle. Tap to open full size. Chair placement may vary slightly on the day.

Bringing more than 48? Here's how the room grows. Tap either one to see it full size.

To-scale floor plan of the 56-chair setup: seven rows of four chairs on each side of the aisle
56 guests: a seventh row behind, same 6' aisle
To-scale floor plan of the 70-chair setup: seven rows of five chairs on each side of the aisle
70 guests: seven rows of five, using the space along the walls

If you want reserved rows for parents and grandparents, a simple ribbon or a sign on the front rows does it (see decorating the chapel).

How many guests

  • Intimate: up to 6 of you, the two of you included. Signature: up to 50. Premier: 50 included, with room for up to 70 — $20 per guest over 50, paid by card right in your Pre-Wedding Questionnaire. Going past 50 takes the Premier; if your Signature list is growing, text us at (830) 402-5690 and we'll see what your date allows.
  • Who counts: everyone attending, and that includes the two of you and your whole wedding party, whether they sit or stand. Kids count too. The one exception is a baby who'll sit on a lap and won't need a chair of their own. Your vendors (photographer, videographer, officiant, planner, florist, musician) don't count.
  • Your final guest count is the number you submit on your Pre-Wedding Questionnaire (due two weeks out). It can go up after you submit (text us and we'll unlock it), but not down.
  • Chairs: everyone who isn't standing up front with you gets a seat. On a Premier over 50, your questionnaire asks how many will stand with you, and we set chairs for your count minus the two of you and them. Say 60 guests with 6 standing beside you: we set 52 chairs. At 50 or under, we set the standard 48.

Tables available

Two tables come with the room: an entry table (52" × 22") just inside the doors and a cake table (5' × 30"). They're yours to use however you'd like — guest book, welcome sign, card box, cake, photos of the two of you.

We also have a ceremony table (2' × 18") that we can place at the front that day — for a unity candle, sand ceremony, or anything else you're including in the ceremony. Sizes for every table at the chapel are on table sizes.

Out on the patio, every couple also gets six high-top cocktail tables, five benches, six limestone seats, and a 6' patio table. See the patio & outdoor furniture.

The podium

If your officiant would like somewhere to set their notes, we have a clear acrylic podium — no charge, nothing to arrange ahead of time. It stands on the floor on a small metal base, with a 23.6" × 15.7" reading top at 42.3" tall. The top tilts, and a lip along the front edge keeps a binder or loose pages from sliding off. Being clear, it all but disappears in photos. At about 19 lb it moves easily, so your officiant can set it wherever they like to stand. It lives in a storage closet at the chapel — just ask our team member when you arrive and we'll bring it out.

Your backdrop

Behind you as you say your vows, you have choices: the chapel as it is, our free-standing cross (no charge), the White Floral Backdrop add-on, or — on the Premier Experience — a backdrop of your own. Every option, with photos, is on your backdrop.

Accessibility

If any of your guests use a wheelchair or need an aisle seat, we can easily move a chair out of the way that day to make sure they're comfortable. We also have two accessible parking spaces with a step-free ramp to the chapel, suites, and bathrooms. See accessibility at the chapel.

Seat dimensions

Our ceremony chairs are gold champagne resin Willow chairs (Chivari). Rounded, each chair is 36" tall, 19" wide and 18" deep, with an 18" seat height and a seat about 18" across. No arms, no cushion. Handy numbers if you're planning chair sashes, bows, or row-end florals.

Your backdrop

The short answer

Behind you at the altar: the arched window as it is, our free-standing cross (no charge), the White Floral Backdrop add-on, or — on the Premier Experience — a backdrop of your own. Pick yours in your Pre-Wedding Questionnaire.

Behind you as you say your vows is the arched window and the Hill Country beyond it. What stands in front of that window is up to you — here are the choices, how to pick one, and how they look.

The chapel as it is

The arched window and clean white walls need no help. Plenty of couples add nothing at all, and the photos are beautiful for it.

The numbers, if you're planning florals or a backdrop around them: the center arched window is 108" wide and 220½" tall (9' × 18' 4½"), and the two side windows are 36" wide and 124" tall each (3' × 10' 4").

The chapel's three windows behind the altar with dimensions marked: the center arched window is 108 inches wide and 220 and a half inches tall, and each side window is 36 inches wide and 124 inches tall
The windows behind the altar, measured. Tap to open full size.

The free-standing cross

Ours, no charge. Choose it in your Pre-Wedding Questionnaire and we'll have it standing at the altar before you arrive. You're welcome to add a floral arrangement to the cross. Bring what you need to attach it (floral wire or zip ties work well) and someone to put it up and take it down inside your window.

It's a substantial piece: 96" tall and 56" across, cut from 4"-deep timber, standing in a white base that's 10" tall, 12" deep, and tapers from 31" wide at the floor to 19" at the top. Handy numbers if you're planning florals or a drape around it.

The White Floral Backdrop add-on

A split arch: two free-standing pillars of lush white florals and greenery, one 92" tall and one 80" tall, framing the arched window with the view open between them. We set it before your ceremony and take it down after. Add it from your Couple's Portal — details and pricing are on add-ons & how to add them.

Up close: white roses, peonies, and soft greenery.

Combining them

The cross and the White Floral Backdrop work together: the cross stands between the two floral pillars. Choose both and we'll set them that way.

Indoors only

The backdrops we provide — the cross and the White Floral Backdrop — are used inside the chapel only. They stay at the altar and can't be moved outside or onto the patio.

Bringing your own backdrop

If you've booked the Premier Experience, you're welcome to bring in your own backdrop. Two things to plan for:

  • Timing. A full backdrop takes real setup and teardown time inside your window — be conscious of it when you plan your arrival.
  • People. Make sure someone is assigned to set it up and take it down afterward.

Simple floral arrangements at the front are welcome on every experience, but a full backdrop of your own needs the longer Premier window, so on Intimate and Signature your backdrop options are the cross or the White Floral Backdrop add-on, positioned by our team. The rest of the decor rules are on decorating the chapel.

Making your choice

Your Pre-Wedding Questionnaire (due two weeks out) asks for your backdrop choice, so we know what to set before you arrive. Changed your mind after submitting? Text us at (830) 402-5690.

Common questions

Can we add our own florals to the cross?

Yes, you're welcome to add a floral arrangement to the cross. Attach it with floral wire or zip ties, and plan for someone to put it up and take it down inside your window.

Can we modify the White Floral Backdrop with our own flowers?

No — the White Floral Backdrop comes as it is and can't be modified or added to. If you'd like a different look, the cross can be dressed in your own florals, or Premier couples can bring a backdrop of their own.

Can the cross or the White Floral Backdrop be set up outside on the patio?

No — both are indoor pieces that stay at the altar inside the chapel. They can't be moved outside.

Do you have podiums or stands available for our own florals or signs?

We don't, so plan to bring any stands, easels, or pedestals your pieces need. The one exception is the clear acrylic podium for your officiant's notes — see the podium.

Food & drinks at the chapel

The short answer

We've made food and drinks simple with a few add-ons: a Refreshment Cart stocked with chilled non-alcoholic drinks, a Champagne Toast we chill and pour for you, and on Premier, your own beer and wine with Sip & Celebrate or a cold spread for your guests with Grazing Table Setup. Cake and desserts depend on your experience, and everything is detailed below.

Cake and a champagne toast are part of almost every ceremony here, and on the Premier experience you can go further: your own beer and wine with Sip & Celebrate, and a real spread for your guests with Grazing Table Setup. Here's what's allowed on each experience and how each one works. Anything not on this page stays home.

At a glance

Nothing on this table is included in your experience. Anything marked Add-on is an optional extra you can add from your Couple's Portal, and cake is yours to bring.

Intimate Signature Premier
Cake & desserts — Bring your own cutting cake for the two of you Bring your own cake or desserts for all your guests
Champagne Toast Add-on Add-on Add-on (included with Sip & Celebrate)
Refreshment Cart Add-on Add-on Add-on (included with Sip & Celebrate)
Beer, wine & seltzers — — Add-on: Sip & Celebrate
Cold or room-temp food for your guests — — Add-on: Grazing Table Setup
Charcuterie Cart — — Add-on, booked with Grate Graze

Cake (and other desserts)

What's allowed depends on your experience — and "cake" here means any dessert, so cupcakes, cookies, pies, or a dessert table follow the same rules:

  • Intimate — no outside cake.
  • Signature — bring a cake for the two of you (a cutting cake for photos and a private bite — not served to guests).
  • Premier — bring a cake or desserts to serve to all your guests. We'll have a cake table ready; just tell us your plan in the Pre-Wedding Questionnaire.

The Champagne Toast (any experience)

If you've added the Champagne Toast, here's the one quirk to know: you bring the bottles. Texas law (TABC) means we can't purchase alcohol on your behalf — but hand us your bubbly (or a non-alcoholic sparkling option) when your window opens and we'll chill it, set up the cart, and pour for everyone at the moment you choose in your questionnaire. We provide the flutes (plastic — we don't use real glassware), so the bottles are all you bring. A standard bottle pours about six toast-size flutes, so plan on one bottle for every six guests. Already adding Sip & Celebrate? The toast is included — no need to add it separately.

Cold or room-temp food for your guests (Premier: Grazing Table Setup)

Want more than cake? Premier couples can add Grazing Table Setup from your Couple's Portal and bring a cold spread for everyone. It's required for any food other than cake or charcuterie from Grate Graze, and it's a self-serve setup: you bring, arrange, and serve the food; we set the stage.

We provide:

  • Wood-top grazing tables, in place before your window opens
  • A full-size refrigerator (20 cu. ft., no freezer — about 33" wide × 72" tall, four full-width shelves) to keep everything cold until it's time to serve
  • Ice for chilling food on the table
  • Trash cans by the table, and we clear and haul everything out afterward

You bring:

  • The food — cold or room temperature only. Think Jason's Deli sandwich trays, wraps, and salads, or charcuterie boards from H-E-B. If it would still be good after an hour on the table, it's welcome. Nothing is heated or kept warm on site, and hot food can't be delivered.
  • Plates, napkins, serving utensils, and anything you'd like to display it on — boards, risers, or linens.
  • One or two people from your group to unpack, arrange, and refresh the table. Our team doesn't handle, plate, or serve food.

How the day flows:

  1. Food arrives when your window opens — bring it yourselves, or have a restaurant or caterer drop it off (they can't stay to serve). It goes straight into the fridge.
  2. Right after the ceremony, while you're taking photos, your helpers set the table out for guests on the patio. See where it lands in the sample timelines.
  3. Food service ends 15 minutes before your window closes. Leftovers go home with you; we handle the trash and the tables.

It's a standing, cocktail-style spread — we have high-top round cocktail tables on the patio but don't set formal seating or dining tables. Dreaming of a sit-down dinner? Our Reception Ideas page has nearby spots that do it beautifully.

Beer and wine (Premier: Sip & Celebrate)

Premier couples can add Sip & Celebrate from your Couple's Portal. It's required for any beer, wine, or seltzer at your event, and it includes the Champagne Toast and the Refreshment Cart:

  • What you bring: beer, wine, and seltzers of the kind sold in a Texas grocery store (White Claw and Cayman Jack are fine). Beer and seltzers in cans only — no glass beer bottles. Wine can come in its bottle. No liquor, and nothing spirit-based (so no High Noon or canned cocktails).
  • How it arrives: already chilled, in coolers, when your window opens, along with your champagne for the toast. Everything goes to our server — nothing stays in cars or suites.
  • How it's served: our TABC-certified server pours every drink, after the ceremony, in clear disposable cups. Self-serve isn't allowed, the server may check IDs, and there are no drinking games.
  • Last call is 30 minutes before your window ends. Leftover unopened drinks go home in your car; opened containers are discarded.
  • Sip & Celebrate sets your refundable hold to $500 the week of (Premier bookings since September 29, 2026 already carry it) (see your final two weeks).

Done-for-you options

  • Refreshment Cart (any experience) — chilled water, sodas, and sparkling water, restocked all event long.
  • Charcuterie Cart (Premier) — a styled grazing cart from our partner Grate Graze Boards, with an attendant who keeps it fresh: bottomless graze cups for an hour, or graze plates for two hours if you'd like it to stand in for a meal. You book and pay with them directly, priced by guest count; their link is on your Couple's Portal. No Grazing Table Setup needed for this one.

Common questions

Does it have to be a cake? What about cupcakes or a dessert table?

Any dessert is fine — cupcakes, cookies, pies, a dessert table. It follows the same rules as cake for your experience: Signature couples bring a dessert for the two of them; Premier couples can serve desserts to all their guests. Desserts never need Grazing Table Setup; that's only for food beyond sweets.

Do you provide plates, cups, or glasses?

For anything we pour — the toast and Sip & Celebrate — yes: flutes and cups are on us. Refreshment Cart drinks are grab-and-go, so no cups needed. For anything you serve, they're yours to bring: if you're serving cake or desserts to all your guests on Premier, pack plates, forks, and napkins (and a cake knife and server), and the same goes for food you bring with Grazing Table Setup — plates, napkins, and serving pieces.

Can we bring our own waters and sodas?

The easiest answer is the Refreshment Cart: chilled water, sodas, and sparkling water, chilled on ice, set out on the patio as your ceremony wraps up and restocked all event long — and the empties and cleanup are ours, not yours. It's available on every experience and included with Sip & Celebrate; add it from your Couple's Portal. Most couples find it's one less thing to haul in and haul out.

Can we do a champagne tower?

Yes, if you've added the Champagne Toast. Two things to bring along with your bottles: coupe glasses (the shallow, saucer-style glasses a tower is built from — our flutes don't stack) and a tray to sit under the tower and catch the overflow as it pours.

All other outside food and alcohol stays home. Every add-on here can be added after booking from your Couple's Portal — see Add-ons.

The patio & outdoor furniture

The short answer

Every couple gets the patio after the ceremony: six high-top cocktail tables, five wood benches, six limestone seats, and a 6' patio table, under shade sails with the Hill Country view. We don't provide linens, but you're welcome to bring your own.

Right outside the chapel is the patio: open air, shaded by sails, looking out over the Hill Country. After your ceremony, guests can head out here to mingle and enjoy the view. You can have your music lead play your after-ceremony playlist over the patio speakers.

What's on the patio

Piece How many Size
High-top cocktail tables (round teak top, black base) 6 24" round, about 42" tall (bar height)
Wood benches 5
Limestone block seats 6
Patio table (wood top, white legs) 1 72" long × 24" deep, 30" tall

The high-tops are for standing, cocktail-style. The benches and limestone blocks are the seats. There are no dining tables or place settings out here.

Tap any photo to open the gallery and swipe through. These are sample photos; the exact arrangement on your day may vary.

Linens

We don't provide linens. The high-top cocktail tables have teak tops, and they're meant to be left uncovered. If you'd still like cloths, you're welcome to bring your own: a 24" round spandex cocktail cover fits the high-tops, or a 108" round tablecloth falls to the ground. Take them home with you when your window ends.

Seating for older guests

If a grandparent or anyone else would be more comfortable in a real chair during the cake cutting or toast, you're welcome to bring some chairs from inside the chapel out to the patio.

Bringing your own table

You're welcome to bring a small table of your own for a Polaroid station, a gift or card table, or a memorial table. Set it up when your window opens and take it home at the end. See decorating the chapel for what else you can bring.

Your first dance

Plenty of couples have their first dance on the patio right after the ceremony, with the Hill Country behind them. Your music lead plays the song over the patio speakers from the same phone that ran the ceremony — there's no speaker to bring — and our handheld mic is there if someone wants to announce it. A parent dance, the cake cutting, and the toast all fit out here the same way; the Premier sample timeline shows how it flows.

Food and drinks out here

The patio is generally where the cake, the toast, and any food or drinks are served after your ceremony. What's allowed on your experience, including Grazing Table Setup on Premier, is on Food & drinks at the chapel. The tables inside the chapel are on table sizes.

Bringing your pet

The short answer

Yes — your pet is welcome in your ceremony. Two rules: on a leash, and with a designated handler who isn't one of you two. Guests' pets stay home; service animals are always allowed.

Some of the best ceremony photos we've seen have a dog in them! Couples marrying with us are welcome to include their own pet, with one simple rule that makes it work:

  • On a leash, the whole time.
  • With a designated handler — someone other than the two of you, who's responsible for your pet (and any cleanup) from arrival to departure. You'll have your hands full with rings, vows, and each other.

A handler tip: pick someone your pet already knows and trusts, bring high-value treats, and do a bathroom stop before heading to The Chapel.

Guests' pets stay at home, with one exception: service animals, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act, are always allowed.

The chapel bell

The short answer

Ring it whenever you like during your window — though nothing beats ringing it together as you walk out married.

The chapel has a real bell, and it's yours to ring at any point during your window.

Most couples save it for the moment that deserves it: walking out of the chapel together, just married. Grab the rope together, ring it loud, and let the Hill Country know. It's a two-second tradition that turns into everyone's favorite photo.

A tip for the photo: let your photographer and videographer know the bell is coming so they're planted and ready — it happens fast, and the best shot is your guests' faces mid-cheer.

Your sendoff & wrapping up

The short answer

A sendoff is completely optional. If you're heading to a restaurant or other location after, most couples do not do a sendoff at The Chapel. If you do choose to do one, you can do bubbles or wands, or add on our Sparkler Send-Off and we'll provide sparklers.

The sendoff

A sendoff is completely optional here. Most couples head straight to dinner or their reception spot and skip it — guests drift out from the patio, and you leave when you're ready. If you'd like one, guests line the path outside and cheer you out, and you'll choose the time in the Pre-Wedding Questionnaire — anywhere from 60 to 10 minutes before your window closes. Leave 15–20 minutes after it for goodbyes and stragglers. Before the sendoff, the patio is yours for a first dance, the toast, and cake — see the patio.

What your guests can wave, blow, or toss

  • Bubbles — yes, always. Bring your own; no add-on needed, and they photograph beautifully.
  • Ribbon wands, flags, bells — yes. Anything waved rather than thrown is welcome.
  • Flower petals — indoors only. These can be used for your ceremony but cannot be thrown outside for your sendoff.
  • Rice, confetti, birdseed, glitter — no, inside or out.
  • Sparklers — only through our Sparkler Send-Off add-on (Premier). We supply long-burning wedding sparklers and our team lights them outdoors, in a spot we choose, and handles safety and cleanup. Sparklers you bring yourself, fireworks, and anything with an open flame aren't allowed. Sparklers work at any Premier time and glow brightest after sunset; if it's too windy to light them safely, we'll delay or skip them and refund the add-on.

Wrapping up

Your whole celebration — ceremony, photos, sendoff, grounds — lives inside your window, and the chapel turns back into a blank canvas when it closes:

  • Everything you brought goes home with you: decor, cake stands, champagne empties, vow books, the flower girl's basket, anything in the suites. Assign a wrap-up person (the music lead often doubles nicely) and bring the boxes things came in. We set out a trash can for you.
  • Photos end when the window ends — including on the grounds. If photos matter most to your day, build your timeline around them: see sample timelines.
  • Running late on the way out, or leaving spills and trash beyond normal use, comes out of the refundable hold — an on-time, tidy exit keeps it untouched and everyone happy.

Then: dinner, dancing, or a quiet drive through the Hill Country — our Reception Ideas has the shortlist.

Music & Sound

How music works at the chapel

The short answer

The chapel has a built-in AirPlay sound system — your phone is prepared ahead of time with your playlists. On the day of your wedding, your phone is then used to control the music and volume, and one trusted person (your music lead) runs the whole ceremony's music (even from their seat). Live musicians bring their own amplification.

The chapel's built-in Sonos sound system works over AirPlay on the venue WiFi — any iPhone or iPad becomes the soundboard: connect, press play, and the room fills. One person you trust connects it and runs it from their seat — the WiFi details are on this page, and our team is nearby if they hit a snag. We call that person your music lead.

Pick your music lead

Choose one person — a family member, friend, or coordinator — as your music lead to help run the music that day. Send them their page, chapeltx.com/guide/running-the-music — everything they need in a two-minute read. On the day, their whole job is:

  1. Join the TCW Music WiFi and connect the phone to the chapel speakers over AirPlay (details below — most people are connected in under a minute).
  2. Start your Pre-Ceremony playlist right away — ideally the moment you're connected, so 20–30 minutes of background music is already playing while guests arrive and find their seats.
  3. Play your processional songs as the wedding party enters.
  4. A few minutes before the ceremony ends, check the phone is still connected to the Chapel speakers — phones can drop the connection after the music sits paused for a while, and it's an easy fix if caught before the recessional.
  5. Hit the recessional song as you and your wedding party exit.
  6. Play your After-Ceremony playlist while guests are hanging out.

A nice side effect of AirPlay: once connected, your music lead can run the whole ceremony from their seat — no hovering at the back required.

Chapel WiFi

The sound system lives on the chapel's music network — join it first and the speakers appear in your AirPlay menu:

  • Network: TCW Music
  • Password: chapelmusic

That network is just for the music phone — everyone else joins TCW Guest (no password). Details on the WiFi page.

Build the playlist ahead of time

Make your playlists ahead of time:

  • Pre-Ceremony — 20–30 minutes of background music that starts the moment your music lead connects, while guests arrive and find their seats.
  • Processional — one song, or two if you'd like a separate one for the final walk down the aisle.
  • Recessional — one song for the exit.
  • After-Ceremony — music to keep going while guests hang out on the patio after the recessional. Your music lead can play it on the Patio speakers and the chapel at the same time.

Download them for offline playback the night before and arrive with a charged phone — a fully downloaded playlist can never buffer at the wrong moment.

The best music apps to use are Apple Music or Spotify. Do not use non-music-player apps like YouTube or TikTok as they do not always play over AirPlay. If the song you want isn't on Apple Music or Spotify, the best option is to get the MP3 and use the Wedding Player app — it lets you import MP3 files straight into the app from your Files.

The easy button: Wedding Player + Apple Music

If you want it to be easier for your music lead, there's an app built for exactly this: Wedding Player for iPhone. You line up a song for each moment ahead of time — Pre-Ceremony, processional, recessional — set the fades once, and on the day your music lead just taps when each cue arrives. Pair it with Apple Music to pull in any song you want (a single month's subscription covers the wedding), then download everything so it plays offline. It also comes with a library of ceremony-ready instrumental tracks if you'd rather not pick every song yourself.

If you're hiring live music

Violinists, guitarists, cellists, and other musicians are always welcome — they should bring their own amplification if they want it. The chapel's system is designed for streaming from a device, not as a plug-in PA. Send them our vendor page: chapeltx.com/guide/vendors.

Where they set up: musicians generally play from inside the chapel, at the rear of the ceremony area behind the last row of chairs — the room carries the sound to the front, and they stay out of your photos. If they need a chair, we'll provide one — our ceremony chairs have no arms, so they work for a cellist or guitarist. Just let us know in your questionnaire or when you arrive.

About microphones

During the ceremony, there's no microphone over the chapel speakers — and in our testing, we've found it isn't needed. The room is intimate enough that vows carry to the last row. That goes for readings too.

If you've added our Livestream option, your officiant wears a lapel mic that plays only over the livestream. It picks up your officiant and the two of you during your vows.

For toasts and announcements, like a grand entrance after photos, we have a handheld mic that plays over the Patio speakers. Just ask our staff and we'll get it for you.

Common questions

Where do live musicians set up, and can you provide a chair?

Live musicians usually set up inside the chapel at the rear of the ceremony area, behind the last row of chairs. We'll provide a chair if they need one — our chairs are armless, so they suit a cellist or guitarist. They bring their own amplification if they want it.

Is there someone onsite who can run the music for us?

Our operations person is at the chapel for your entire window, but they're on the venue side — prepping the space, managing any add-ons you've booked, and making sure everything's cleaned up and reset — so they aren't able to run your ceremony music. Your music lead connects with the WiFi details on this page — most people are playing music in under a minute — and our team member is nearby before the ceremony if they hit a snag.

Can the music lead be seated during my ceremony?

Yes — once they're connected, the whole ceremony runs right from their phone, from their seat. They get to watch you get married like everyone else.

Will an iPad work too?

Absolutely — an iPad works exactly the same way: join the chapel WiFi, AirPlay to the speakers, press play. Any Apple device with AirPlay works. Whatever the device, the checklist is the same: playlists downloaded for offline playback, battery charged, and Do Not Disturb on so a call can't interrupt the music mid-ceremony.

Is there internet access onsite?

Yes — the chapel has fiber internet, and joining the WiFi is part of connecting to the sound system. We still recommend downloading your songs for offline playback ahead of time, just in case — a downloaded playlist can never buffer at the wrong moment.

Do we need to bring a speaker for the patio?

No — the patio has its own speakers on the same AirPlay system, so you're covered out there. Once your music lead is connected, they add Patio in the speaker menu and your After-Ceremony playlist plays outside too: a first dance, the toast, or just background music while everyone mingles. For an announcement, ask our staff for the handheld mic.

What is the best app to use for music?

We recommend using dedicated music apps such as Apple Music or Spotify. If you're using an app like Wedding Player, then Apple Music is best. We do not recommend using YouTube or any social media apps like TikTok as they do not play as reliably over AirPlay.

Running the music: your music lead's page

The short answer

You're the music lead: you'll be playing the couple's music for their wedding from an iPhone or iPad. We have a Sonos speaker system you can AirPlay to and then control songs and volume from the device.

The couple sent you this page because you're their music lead — the one person running the ceremony music from a phone. It's easier than it sounds — the WiFi details below are all you need to connect yourself, and our team is nearby if you hit a snag.

Before you arrive

  1. Decide whose phone you'll use. Most couples prep their own phone ahead of time — playlists built and downloaded — and hand it to you on the day. If you're using yours instead, get their playlists onto it (or into the Wedding Player app, if they're using it). Decide this with the couple beforehand.

  2. Check the playlists. Generally, you would have 4 separate playlists:

    • Pre-Ceremony — background music while guests arrive and find their seats. You start it the moment you connect.
    • Processional — for entrances. Usually that's two songs: one for the wedding party, one for the bride.
    • Recessional — the exit, the moment they're pronounced.
    • After-Ceremony — keeps music going while guests hang out on the patio.

Although we have fiber internet, it's best to have these downloaded for offline playback beforehand.

  3. It needs to be an iPhone or iPad. The chapel speakers connect over AirPlay, which is Apple-only.

  4. If you'll be using one of the couple's phones, make sure you know the passcode to unlock it.

When you arrive

  1. Join the chapel WiFi:
    • Network: TCW Music
    • Password: chapelmusic
  2. Turn on Do Not Disturb so a call can't cut in during the ceremony.
  3. Open your music app, tap the AirPlay icon, and you'll see the "Chapel" option for the chapel speakers. You can also check "Patio" if you'd like to play music to the patio at the same time (it can play to both simultaneously). If a speaker doesn't show up, ask our team member — but most people are connected in under a minute.
  4. Press play on the Pre-Ceremony playlist right away, so music is already filling the room as guests arrive and find their seats.

Here's what AirPlay looks like (once you're on the WiFi):

Control Center → AirPlay icon → Chapel + Patio

Your cues

  1. Processional — once the ceremony begins, fade out the Pre-Ceremony music and start the Processional playlist.
  2. Fade the music once everyone is in place at the front.
  3. Check you're still connected before their ceremony ends.

Don't skip this one. A few minutes before the ceremony ends (during the vows or ring exchange), quietly unlock the phone, open the music app, and make sure it still shows Chapel as the speaker. Phones can drop the speakers after the music sits paused for a while. If it's gone, tap the AirPlay icon and pick Chapel again, then line up the recessional so it's one tap away.

  4. Recessional — hit it as the couple and wedding party exit. Big and joyful.
  5. After-Ceremony — once the recessional ends, start the after-ceremony playlist. Add Patio in the speaker menu so it plays out there too.

That's the whole job. Once you're connected you run everything from your seat, so take one and enjoy the ceremony.

Good to know

  • During the ceremony, there's no microphone over the chapel speakers, and none is needed — the room carries voices to the last row. If the couple has added our Livestream option, we will mic up the officiant with a lapel mic that only plays over the livestream. This mic will also pick up the couple speaking their vows over the livestream.
  • If someone would like to make an announcement, such as announcing the couple's grand entrance after photos, or doing a toast on the patio, we have a handheld mic that will play over the Patio speakers. Please ask our staff and we can provide this for you.
  • Our on-site team sets up the room and is around if you have trouble connecting, but they can't run the music during the ceremony. That part is yours.
  • The ceremony starts at least 30 minutes after the couple's window opens — arrive with them so there's time to connect and test. Directions and parking: chapeltx.com/guide/arrival.
  • Questions on the day? Find our team member in the chapel, or text (830) 402-5690.

Decor & Details

Decorating the chapel

The short answer

Free-standing, ground-level decor is yours to play with — but nothing attaches to the walls or chandeliers, no tape on floors, real candles only inside glass that rises an inch above the flame, your own backdrop only on Premier, and everything you bring leaves by the end of your window.

The chapel photographs beautifully empty — white walls, arched window, Hill Country light. Which means anything you add reads as intentional. Here's how decorating works.

What works

  • Ground-level, free-standing decor is yours to play with: floral arrangements at the altar area, lanterns or flowers lining the aisle, arrangements beside the chairs.
  • Reserve-your-row touches — ribbon or small signs tied to the front rows for family.
  • Petals down the aisle — real or silk, indoors only. Your flower girl is welcome to toss them.
  • A backdrop moment — simple florals at the front are welcome on every experience. For a full backdrop, choose the chapel's free-standing cross (pick it in your questionnaire, no charge) or add the White Floral Backdrop, lush white florals and greenery behind the altar, set before you arrive. Premier couples can also bring their own. More in your backdrop.
  • Bring your own stands — we don't have easels, pedestals, or flower stands, so bring whatever your pieces need to stand on. The one exception is the clear acrylic podium for your officiant. See your backdrop.
  • Candlelight — real candles are welcome as long as each one sits inside glass you provide that rises at least an inch above the flame (hurricane vases, tall votive holders). Battery candles work anywhere.

The rules

  1. Nothing attaches to the walls or any other surface — no tape, hooks, nails, or hanging from the globe chandeliers. No exceptions.
  2. No tape of any kind on the floors.
  3. Real candles only inside glass. Every real flame needs a glass enclosure you provide, with the glass extending at least an inch above the flame. A unity candle during the ceremony is the one open flame allowed, and battery candles are always fine.
  4. Larger backdrops are Premier-only. Simple floral arrangements at the front are fine on every experience, but a full backdrop takes extra setup and teardown time, so bringing your own is only possible with the longer Premier window. On Intimate and Signature, your backdrop options are the chapel's cross or our White Floral Backdrop add-on, positioned by our staff.
  5. Nothing thrown or scattered outdoors — rice, confetti, birdseed, and petals included. Indoors, petals only. Sparklers are only through our Sparkler Send-Off add-on — see your sendoff.
  6. In and out within your window. Setup starts when your window opens; every last stem and lantern leaves before it closes, including anything in the suites. Assign a wrap-up person and keep the boxes. We set out a trash can, and there's a broom and dustpan in the vendor closet if you want them.

Signs, banners, and easels outside the front door

A welcome sign, banner, or easel outside the chapel's front doors is welcome — free-standing on a stand or easel you bring, with nothing attached to the doors or the building. One thing to weigh: the breeze. A light sign or easel can blow over out there, so if your piece isn't weighted, it may be happier just inside the doors by the entry table, where guests still see it on the way in.

Planning something ambitious — a florist install, arch pieces, anything that towers? As long as it's free-standing, carried in and out within your window, and nothing attaches to the building, you're set. Text a photo of the plan to (830) 402-5690 if you'd like a second look.

Your florist is one of the welcome vendors — send them chapeltx.com/guide/vendors so they know the load-in rules.

Common questions

Can our flower girl toss petals down the aisle?

Yes — real or silk, any color, tossed anywhere inside the chapel. The only rule is that petals stay indoors: nothing is thrown or scattered outside, so for the sendoff itself look at what your guests can wave, blow, or toss.

Do you have stands or easels for our own flowers or signs?

We don't, so plan to bring any stands, easels, or pedestals your pieces need. The clear acrylic podium for your officiant is the one piece we provide, and the free-standing cross can be dressed in your own florals — see your backdrop.

Can we put a welcome sign or banner outside the front door?

Yes — free-standing on your own stand or easel, with nothing attached to the doors or the building. If it's light, consider setting it just inside the doors instead so the wind can't knock it over.

Is there a broom or anything for cleanup?

We set out a trash can, and the vendor closet has a broom and dustpan if you'd like them.

Table sizes

The short answer

Entry table 52" × 22", cake table 5' × 30", ceremony table 2' × 18", patio table 6' × 2'. All 30" high.

Here are the tables we have at the chapel and their sizes, so you can plan linens, signs, and decor before the day. For what you can add, see Decorating the chapel.

Table Length Width Height
Entry Table 52" 22" 30"
Cake Table 5' (60") 30" 30"
Ceremony Table 2' (24") 18" 30"
Patio Table 6' (72") 2' (24") 30"

All four are standard 30" table height.

Each table is below, marked with its size. Tap any photo to see it full size.

Entry table

The chapel entry table marked with its size: 52 inches long, 22 inches deep and 30 inches tall, a wood plank top on white turned legs against the paneled wall
Entry table: 52" × 22", 30" tall
The entry table just inside the chapel doors, under a framed Hill Country painting and a wall sconce, with the cake table visible through the doorway behind it
In place: just inside the doors, under the painting

Cake table (or anything else)

The chapel cake table marked with its size: 60 inches long, 30 inches deep and 30 inches tall, a wood plank top on white turned legs in the paneled corner by the window

Arrival & Day Of

Directions & arrival

The short answer

Search "The Chapel at Wimberley" in Google Maps and it routes you straight to us — 644 Ghost Dancer, about 20 minutes from Wimberley. On-site parking is included, and doors open when your window begins. Ask guests to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your ceremony.

Finding us

The chapel sits in the Texas Hill Country about 20 minutes from Wimberley, between Austin and San Antonio.

644 Ghost Dancer, Fischer, TX 78623

Searching "The Chapel at Wimberley" in Google Maps routes you right to our door — that's the easiest thing to put on your invitations and share with vendors. Cell service can get spotty in the hills, so have your navigation running before you leave the main roads. For turn-by-turn directions from Austin or San Antonio, see our directions page.

About the last stretch: the final ~1.3 miles to the chapel are a Hill Country dirt road — that's the normal way in, and every car handles it just fine, rain or shine. When the pavement ends, you're almost here; keep following your navigation.

The lay of the land

Aerial photo of the chapel grounds with red labels: the chapel, the guest patio under shade sails, the Bride & Groom suites, the bathrooms in the Annex between them, a photo area beside the chapel and a lower photo area beyond it, the path up from the main guest parking at the bottom, and the side parking lot by the suites marked accessible, vendor, bride & groom, and family.
The chapel from above. Main guest parking is just below the frame; the path leads up to the chapel. The side lot by the suites is for accessible parking, vendors, the two of you, and whoever is arriving with you to help set up. The bathrooms are in the Annex between the chapel and the suites. Tap to open full size.

Parking

On-site parking is included for all your guests, steps from the chapel, with accessible parking, a ramp, and an accessible bathroom.

Two lots. Guests park in the main lot and take the short path up to the chapel. The side lot next to the suites is for accessible parking, vendors, the two of you, and family who are arriving with you to help unload and set up. It is a much shorter carry from there, so send anyone bringing decor, cake, or coolers to that lot.

When to arrive

  • You (the couple): the chapel is privately yours from the minute your window opens — walk in at the start. Signature and Premier couples head straight to the suites.
  • Your guests: no earlier than 15 minutes before the ceremony begins. That's plenty of time to park, find a seat, and enjoy the prelude music. Put your ceremony time on your invitations and wedding website, not your window start, and ask guests not to come early. Early arrivals end up waiting outside while you're still getting ready. Running early? Our directions page lists easy nearby stops to pass the time.
  • Your vendors: at the window start, not before — details on the vendor page.

Bride & Groom suites

The short answer

Signature and Premier experiences include the suites from the minute your window opens. Arrive camera-ready and use them for final touches — they stay yours all window. The walk to the chapel is 60–80 feet, with a hidden side-door route.

Who has them, and when

Signature and Premier experiences include our Bride & Groom suites, and they're yours from the moment your window opens — walk in at minute one and settle in. They stay yours for the whole window: keep your bags, garment bags, and touch-up kit there through the ceremony and photos.

The Intimate experience doesn't include the suites — arrive ceremony-ready and walk straight into your moment.

How to use the suites

Plan to arrive with hair and makeup done. With the timing of the day, the suites are for changing once you arrive, final touch-ups, and getting-ready shots with your photographer.

They're yours the whole time, so you can leave your belongings in there during your ceremony.

There are no speakers in the suites. If you'd like music while you get ready, bring a small portable speaker of your own.

Please note, our suites aren't designed for large wedding parties — if you have many bridesmaids and groomsmen, you may want to plan to have them get ready offsite and arrive ready.

Suite assignments

Since we may be doing multiple weddings per day, we built the venue with two sets of Bride & Groom suites we call North and South. We'll notify you beforehand which set you're assigned to so you know where to go when you arrive. They have signs on the doors.

Park in the side lot right next to the suites, not the main guest lot. Family arriving with you to help unload can park there too. The property map shows it.

Your walk to the chapel

It's a short walk: about 60 feet from the North suite, about 80 feet from the South suite. There are two ways for the bride to enter the chapel:

  1. Through the side entrance. Wait just inside the chapel's side door, then come around the corner into the aisle when cued. This is the hidden route.
  2. Through the front double doors. A grand entrance, but it takes two people holding the doors open.

The South suite door swings out toward the chapel, so the bride can slip out without being seen. If you're running a rehearsal, walk this path once so the lineup knows where to wait.

Common questions

Are there speakers in the Bride & Groom suites?

No — the suites don't have speakers. Bring a small portable speaker if you'd like music while you get ready. The chapel's sound system and the patio speakers are separate; see music at the chapel.

Bathrooms

The short answer

Two private, unisex bathrooms in the Annex, the small building right next to the chapel. One is wheelchair accessible, one has a baby changing table, and both are on the step-free route.

Where they are

Our bathrooms are in the Annex, the small building right next to the chapel, a few steps along the walkway from the chapel doors and the patio. Look for the two doors marked Bathroom.

The Annex: a small white board-and-batten building with a wood gable, two arched doors each marked Bathroom with a lantern beside it, planters between them, and the patio and Hill Country trees behind
The Annex: both bathrooms, right next to the chapel

What's there

  • Two individual, unisex bathrooms. Each one is its own private room with a locking door, not a stall in a shared bathroom, so anyone can use either.
  • One is wheelchair accessible, and it sits on the same step-free route as the chapel and the suites. Details on the accessibility page.
  • One has a baby changing table.

Guests sometimes ask about bathrooms before they arrive. If your wedding website has a venue or FAQ section, this page is an easy one to share.

Weather & rain backup plan

The short answer

Your ceremony happens inside the chapel no matter what the sky does. If it rains, we set out umbrellas for the short walks, and anything you planned for the patio moves inside.

The chapel is fully enclosed, so rain never interrupts a ceremony here. Weather can change the walk in and what happens on the patio afterward — not the part that matters. Here's what we do.

Your ceremony goes on as planned

The chapel is fully enclosed with air conditioning and heat. Rain, wind, or a cold snap outside doesn't change a thing about your ceremony: same room, same start time, same aisle.

Umbrellas for the short walks

When rain is in the forecast, our team sets out a basket of umbrellas inside the chapel. Use them for the walk between the chapel and the bathrooms or the getting-ready suites.

Your patio plans move inside

Anything you were planning for the patio after the ceremony — the toast, cake, mingling with your guests — can happen inside the chapel instead. We designed the chapel with chairs instead of pews so it's easy to rearrange the space if needed to do everything inside.

Common questions

Do you have patio heaters?

No. When it's cold, we move everything inside the chapel, which is heated, rather than trying to warm the patio.

Can we set up a tent outside?

No, tents that are big enough and can handle inclement weather are expensive and very involved to set up. Being on the hilltop can sometimes bring heavier winds that make setting up a tent impractical.

Does the road ever become impassable?

No. The chapel sits at the top of a ridge, so even in a hard rain the water sheds off and access isn't affected at all. The last stretch is a Hill Country dirt road in any weather — see directions & arrival.

Photos & Video

Livestream & digital download

The short answer

With the Livestream & Digital Download add-on you get a private watch link to share — live on the day, replay for 90 days, and a Download the Video button to save and cherish your ceremony.

Grandparents who can't travel, a deployed sibling, college friends scattered across time zones — the livestream means they're in the room anyway.

The chapel during a ceremony, seen from the livestream camera at the back
Real TCW ceremonies, exactly as guests saw them at home

How it works

If you have selected the Livestream & Digital Download add-on:

  1. Your private watch link appears on your Couple's Portal (my.chapeltx.com) — a clean, branded page made just for your wedding. We also text it to you the week before.
  2. Share the link with anyone, anywhere — text it, put it on the invitation, send it the morning of. No apps or accounts needed; it opens in any browser.
  3. On your wedding day, we mic your officiant and have our wall-mounted camera pointed at your ceremony. The stream goes live around 15 minutes before your ceremony starts (not at the start of your window), so tell faraway guests to open the link a few minutes before your ceremony time.
  4. Afterward, the replay lives on the same link for 90 days — so the link you already shared keeps working for everyone who wants to watch again (or slept through the time zone).

There's zero technical work on your end — no tripods, no phones propped on chairs, no cousin missing the ceremony to hold a camera.

Your digital download

Within about an hour after the ceremony, the same watch page shows a Download the Video button. Tap it to save the full recording as an MP4 to your phone or computer — it's yours to keep forever, share, or hand to your videographer. Save a copy before the 90-day replay window ends; after that, the link retires.

Don't have the add-on yet?

You can request it right from your Couple's Portal and we'll take care of the rest.

Photography at the chapel

The short answer

Your photographer is welcome for your whole window — chapel, grounds, and all. Build photo time backward from the close, know the light (arched window inside, late-day Premier outside), and keep drones outdoors.

Your photographer and videographer are welcome vendors — in the room from the minute your window opens to the minute it closes, chapel and grounds alike. Here's what helps them do their best work.

Plan the shot list backward from your window

All photography, including on the grounds, wraps when your window ends — so build the timeline from the close backward. On a 90-minute Signature that's roughly 20 minutes of photos after the ceremony; a 3.5-hour Premier leaves real time for a first look, family formals, and golden-hour portraits. See sample timelines, and send your photographer the day's timing in advance.

The light

  • The chapel is fully enclosed and air-conditioned, with white walls and a tall arched window behind the altar — soft, even light for the ceremony and portraits in any weather.
  • Every couple has the patio after the ceremony; Premier couples use it for the toast, cake cutting, and dances.
  • Late-day ceremonies catch the best outdoor light: the 4 PM Premier runs to 7:30, and the 6 PM Premier (daylight-saving months) runs to 9:30 with sunset in the middle of the celebration — the ideal setup for a Sparkler Send-Off.

Where to shoot

Two outdoor photo areas sit right beside the chapel: one along the side of the building, and a lower area beyond the end of it. Add the patio, the chapel's front doors, and the arched window inside, and your photographer has five spots within a minute's walk of each other.

Photo areas from above. The photo area beside the chapel and the lower photo area past it, with the patio and the suites for context. Tap to open full size.

Seeing the chapel beforehand

Your photographer can scout on a Venue Tour with you, or at your rehearsal if you book one at the chapel. For engagement or bridal photos here, book a Portrait Session. More in Visiting before your wedding. Photos of the chapel to plan from are on chapeltx.com.

Drones

Drones are welcome outdoors only. No drone flies inside the chapel.

A note on usage

Photos and video from your day are yours to share and enjoy. Commercial use of the chapel building's likeness (selling images of the venue itself) needs our written permission first — your photographer's portfolio and social posts are always fine.

Vendors & Helpers

Vendor arrival & guidelines

The short answer

Photographers, videographers, officiants, coordinators, florists, and musicians are welcome — arriving when the couple's window opens and wrapping before it closes. Vendors never count toward the guest count.

If a couple sent you this page: welcome — this is everything you need for a smooth day at The Chapel at Wimberley.

Who's welcome

These outside vendors are welcome on the premises:

  • Photographer
  • Videographer
  • Officiant
  • Coordinator
  • Florist
  • Musician (violinist, guitarist, and the like)
  • Food drop-off from a restaurant or caterer (Premier with Grazing Table Setup — cold or room-temperature food, drop-off only)

Any other vendor needs prior written approval from the venue — have your couple text us at (830) 402-5690 before the day.

Timing

The couple has the chapel for a private window, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, or 3.5 hours depending on their experience (their timeline shows how it flows). Vendors arrive when the window opens and depart by the time it closes — load-in, work, and load-out all live inside it. There's no early-access slot, so plan staging accordingly.

Parking

  • Use the side lot next to the suites, not the main guest lot. It is steps from the chapel's side entrance, so load-in is short.
  • The two accessible spaces are in the same lot. Please leave those free.

How the chapel is set up

The chairs and tables are already in place when the window opens, set to the floor plans on chapel layout & seating:

  • 48 chairs by default: 6 rows of 4 on each side of a 6' center aisle.
  • Bigger Premier weddings: a seventh row for 56 guests; seven rows of five, using the space along the walls, for 70. The couple's final count from their Pre-Wedding Questionnaire sets the number.
  • Tables: an entry table (52" × 22") just inside the doors, a cake table (5' × 30"), and a ceremony table (2' × 18") at the front if the couple wants one. The couple decides what goes on each.
To-scale floor plan of the chapel's default ceremony setup: six rows of four chairs on each side of a six-foot center aisle, with the vestibule, entryway, closets and tables
The default 48-chair setup, drawn to scale. The 56- and 70-chair plans, chair sizes and the podium are on chapel layout & seating. Chair placement may vary slightly on the day.

Good to know

  • Inside the chapel, the left closet is for vendors and storage. Any equipment you need to stash away can go in there.
  • Fridge: the left closet also has a full-size refrigerator you're welcome to use — a 20 cu. ft. Frigidaire, fridge only (no freezer), about 33" wide × 72" tall × 30" deep, with four adjustable full-width glass shelves, a bottom basket, and five door bins. Plenty of room for flowers, cake boxes, and food trays.
  • WiFi: join TCW Guest — there's no password. We have fiber internet with good connectivity, and vendors are welcome to use it.
  • You don't count toward the guest count — vendors are working the ceremony, and you're welcome throughout it.

Vendor-specific notes

  • Officiants: a clear acrylic podium is available if you'd like one — no need to arrange it ahead of time. It's floor-standing, 42.3" tall, with a 23.6" × 15.7" tilting top and a front lip so your notes stay put (photo and sizes). It lives in a storage closet at the chapel; just ask when you arrive and we'll grab it.
  • Musicians: bring your own amplification if you want it. The chapel's built-in system streams from a phone over AirPlay; it isn't a plug-in PA. Full details: how music works at the chapel.
  • Florists: decor is ground-level only, nothing attached to the walls, and every install comes back out before the window ends. Full rules: decorating the chapel.
  • Photographers: the chapel is fully enclosed and air-conditioned with an arched window behind the altar; all photos — including grounds — wrap by window close.
  • We do not require a certificate of insurance from you.

WiFi & internet at the chapel

The short answer

The chapel has fiber internet and WiFi throughout the venue. Everyone joins TCW Guest (no password). Only the phone running the ceremony music joins TCW Music, password chapelmusic.

The chapel runs on fiber internet, with WiFi throughout the venue — the chapel, the patio, and the suites. Two networks, two jobs.

For everyone: TCW Guest

  • Network: TCW Guest
  • Password: none — just join

This is the one for you, your guests, your officiant, your photographer, and your vendors: sharing photos, FaceTiming someone who couldn't make it, uploading, whatever the day calls for.

For the ceremony music: TCW Music

The chapel speakers live on their own network. The phone running your music joins this one so the speakers show up in its AirPlay menu:

  • Network: TCW Music
  • Password: chapelmusic

Only the music phone needs TCW Music — everyone else stays on TCW Guest. The full connect-and-play walkthrough is on your music lead's page: chapeltx.com/guide/running-the-music.

Good to know

  • Even on fiber, download your playlists for offline playback before the day — a downloaded playlist can never buffer at the wrong moment. See how music works.
  • Vendors and photographers are welcome on TCW Guest for uploads and backups during the window. More in vendor arrival & guidelines.
  • Trouble joining? Find our team member at the chapel, or text (830) 402-5690.

If Plans Change

Changing or cancelling your date

The short answer

You can reschedule once, free, if your original date is more than 6 months out and the new date is within a year. Cancellations are fully refundable for 72 hours after booking; after that, all sales are final.

Plans shift — here's exactly how changes work, no surprises.

Rescheduling

You may reschedule your date one time, as long as:

  • Your original wedding date is more than 6 months away when you ask, and
  • Your new date falls within 1 year of the original.

There's no rescheduling fee. If your new date carries a higher price, you pay just the difference. If you've paid a per-guest fee (Premier bookings over 50 guests), it carries to the new date automatically.

To start a reschedule, text us at (830) 402-5690 with your booking name and the new date you have in mind.

Cancelling

  • Within 72 hours of booking: full refund, no questions.
  • After 72 hours: all sales are final — no refunds for any reason, including changes in plans or personal circumstances. (A paid per-guest fee is the one exception: it's refunded in full if you cancel.)
  • No-shows forfeit the booking entirely, with no refund or reschedule.

If weather or an emergency has you worried about your date, text us early — the more runway we have, the more we can do.
